Set up a cross-domain cookie

|

Using the Cross-Domain Cookie feature, you can automatically transfer a visitor's consent to other WordPress websites.

To use this feature, Borlabs Cookie must be installed on all of your websites, and all websites must use the same Service Groups and Services. If a Service Group or Service is missing on one of the websites, consent for that item cannot be transferred.

In addition, all websites must have a valid SSL certificate.

The Services themselves do not need to be configured identically; they only need to use the same Service ID.

The Cookie Version must be identical across all websites (see Settings).

An example setup for three websites would look like this:

On the website www.beispiel-gmbh.de enter the following URLs in the Cross-Domain Cookie field:

On the website www.beispiel-gmbh.com nter the following URLs in the Cross-Domain Cookie field:

On the website www.beispiel-shop.de nter the following URLs in the Cross-Domain Cookie field:

If your WordPress installation is located in a subdirectory, you must include the subdirectory in the URL. The trailing slash (/) at the end of the URL is required and must not be omitted.

  • The websites must have a valid SSL certificate.
  • The websites must transmit the referrer.
  • Each URL must end with a trailing slash (/).
  • Consent is transferred for the same language. If the language does not exist on the target website, the default language of the target website will be used.
  • The Cookie Version (under Settings) must be identical across all websites (do not confuse this with the Borlabs Cookie plugin version).
  • This feature does not work in Internet Explorer.
  • This feature does not work in private/incognito browsing mode.
