How can I check if the opt-out works?

Google Analytics

To check whether the opt-out works, you have to integrate the possibility to do so on your website beforehand via short code. We recommend the privacy page. Use the following short code to integrate the opt-out of Google Analytics.

If you do not integrate Google Analytics through our integrated solution, you can use the opt-out feature of Borlabs Cookie by inserting your tracking ID in the short code or link.

1. Click on the Opt-out button and reload the website (if you followed our recommendation, you will find it on the privacy page).
2. Google Analytics will continue to run, but now sets a new cookie (ga-disable-UA-yourTrackingID-1). Ghostery will therefore continue to report Google Analytics. However, if the appropriate Google Analytics cookie is set, Borlabs cookie has been successfully established.

Note: The opt-out of Google Analytics is independent of the cookie box, i.e. a choice of option 2 of the cookie selection does not trigger an opt-out.

Facebook Pixel

1. Click on the Opt-out button and reload the website (if you followed our recommendation, you will find it on the privacy page).
2. The Facebook Pixel code should no longer be loaded. Ghostery should therefore no longer display the Facebook Pixel code and Borlabs Cookie was successfully set up.
