Why themes and plugins?
This information helps us to design our test environments. Currently, we have about 30 WordPress installations with various popular themes and plugins. With the help of the telemetry data, we can identify rising themes and plugins early in the future and test our plugin for compatibility and adjust it if necessary.
Why cookies and Content Blocker?
This information helps us identify popular services and create templates for them. This way, you'll have less hassle during the next setup.

This information helps us better align focus in design options.
What information is sent?
We have designed the system in such a way that we only receive information that we absolutely need for our evaluation. The transfer of information is thus reduced to the bare minimum. A detailed breakdown including an example can be found below.

Borlabs Cookie Settings:
We are sent the information as to whether you are using the Cross-Cookie Domain feature, Geo database feature or the IAB TCF integration, as well as which layout has been set with which position. In addition, the status of the option to display the button for "accept only essential cookies" and "accept all cookies". This data is sent regardless of consent to telemetry data collection, as we have to check websites with activated IAB TCF for compliance, among other things.
System information:
This data is essential for the development of the plugin and the maintenance of the Borlabs Cookie packages. It includes the following information: Database version, PHP version, product version, WordPress version, automatic updates setting, debug logging setting, default WordPress language, multisite network (yes/no), multisite network subdomain or path configuration, use of a plugin for multilingualism (yes/no), list of configured languages.
The image of the telemetry octopus was edited using DALL-E 2 and a cookie was inserted. The image was then edited manually.
