Questions before purchase
Is Borlabs Cookie available for Shopify, Webflow, and other platforms?
Borlabs Cookie is exclusively available for WordPress and cannot be used with other platforms such as Jimdo, Joomla, Shopify, Squarespace, TYPO3, Webflow, Wix, and others.
There are currently no plans to release versions for other systems.
Is there a trial version?
We do not currently offer a trial version or demo. However, you can start with a Personal license and take the time to test our plugin.
If you need additional licenses later, you can upgrade to a higher license at any time. You only pay the difference.
Can I upgrade my license?
Yes, you can upgrade your license at any time through the Borlabs customer portal.
- The remaining time on your current license is credited, so you only pay the difference to the next license tier.
- Your license key remains unchanged.
- The license term starts over from the date of the upgrade.
- You receive one year of updates and support from the upgrade date.
What happens when my license expires?
Once your license expires, you will no longer receive updates or support. Borlabs Cookie will continue to work with certain limitations. For example, features such as the Scanner and the Library, which require access to Borlabs Service, will no longer be available. You will also no longer be able to download Borlabs Cookie after your license has expired.
What are the requirements for Borlabs Cookie?
Borlabs Cookie is compatible with WordPress 4.6 and later, PHP 7.4 and later, and MySQL 5.6 and later.
The plugin works reliably with all common themes, as well as caching and optimization plugins.
Is visitor data transferred to Borlabs?
No. No data from your website visitors is transmitted to Borlabs. Borlabs Cookie runs entirely on your website, and all data processing takes place exclusively on your own server.
What should a GDPR compliant consent dialog look like?
A GDPR compliant consent dialog should meet the following requirements:
Transparency and clarity
- Data processing is explained clearly and in an understandable way.
- Users are informed about which services are used and for what purposes personal data is processed.
Freely given and informed consent
- Consent must be given through an active action by the user. Simply scrolling or continuing to browse the website does not constitute consent.
- Pre selected consent options are not permitted. The only exception applies to technically necessary cookies and services.
- If the consent dialog is closed using the "X" button, no non essential cookies or services may be activated.
Fair design without dark patterns
- Accept and Reject options are presented equally and do not differ in size, color, or placement.
- The design must not intentionally steer users toward a particular decision (no dark patterns).
Granular consent options
- Users can choose to accept or reject individual services or categories.
- A blanket decision to accept or reject all services must not be the only available option.
Withdrawal of consent and record keeping
- Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time.
- All consent decisions are documented and can be verified.
Technical implementation
- Non essential cookies and services are only loaded after active consent has been given.
Borlabs Cookie meets these requirements and provides transparent, fair, and GDPR compliant consent management with granular consent options down to the individual service level.
